Our group work involves creative activities designed to engage, build trust and foster good relationships between members of the group as well as with the group facilitators.
We have very good.relationship skills and and in our group work we use a rich array of tools designed to motivate, inspire and build cooperation and teamwork. We use therapeutic, structured, safe and fun activities; drama and art alongside more reflective tasks. We find that using creative methods is particularly engaging with young people as well as people for whom talking is not a preferred way of communicating.
We can also work with professionals to help them to work with their client base in ways which facilitate openness good communication and well being.
We are particularly interested in supporting organisations to improve their skills to work effectively with other agencies to safeguard children and young people or vulnerable adults. Effective Multi Agency working has been shown to be crucial in the process of safeguarding children and young people, as outlined in every report and act of parliament since 1989. There are, unfortunately, still serious cases leading to child deaths where it has been shown that better communication between agencies could have made a crucial difference. We acknowledge that agencies have improved in this capacity over the years, but we feel that it is in the business of relating to each other that work has not been done and the training gaps show.
