At its simplest mindfulness is the practice of bringing a non-judgemental awareness to the whole of our experience in the present moment. This includes our feelings and thoughts and the ‘felt sense' of sensations / energy moving in the body. It looks at how these combine with our personal histories, and our memories and beliefs, to create patterns of behaviour and thinking that no longer serve us. Once we have identified what these are, we can then develop strategies to address these in a way that will allow us to heal and transform ourselves.
