We aim to make Demuths the best vegetarian restaurant in the south west of England. For the past 18 years we have been making a name for creating innovative and delicious World Food.
There's no better feeling when wanting to eat good, well thought out, well prepared delicious food, than to go to a place that has existed for a long time! How often have you eaten in a much hyped, but new-ish place, to find the food uninspired, tired, unimaginative, boring, even poorly cooked? Demuths in Bath must be carrying the banner for how food SHOULD be done. Interesting food, changing menus, fresh local produce? All been done here excellently for many years with flair and consistency. I've been going there a few times a year for 15-20 years now. And, Like the excellent Royce Rolls Cafe in Bristol (which celebrates 30 years of existence this year!!) longevity has not dulled the excellence of the experience. A 5 star recommendation!

Demuths did not disappoint with an eclectic range of beautifully presented and expertly cooked dishes. We loved the smoky squash scrunchies, Middle eastern mezze and Pistachio baklava. Other offerings include the tofu cabbage roll and root vegetable gratin. Demuths can be on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for – great quality food and service.

I ate here when we holidayed in Bath. The food was high quality and I'd happily eat there again. Booking is advisable as the restaurant is not large and is often full.

I was so impressed by this restaurant. If you are a vegetarian who is bored of mushroom risotto, this is where you need to go! And take your meat-eating friends along, they won't be disappointed!I had the carrot, coriander & cannellini pate with walnut bread for starter - very well presented, lovely flavours and textures. For my main, I felt quite adventurous and had mexican mole, which was spicy winter veg, with brown rice and a mexican chocolate sauce. It was excellent. All the flavours and spices, Mmmm! For dessert I had chocolate tart, which I had to share with my partner because I was so full. Again wonderfully well presented, beautiful flavours, very well balanced. You can tell all the dishes are carefully created. I loved the ethic of the place too - all the wines and drinks are organic, freetrade, good for you and good for the planet. I will definately go back, and go to Bath especially to go back!
