I never ever write reviews but feel compelled having just left the office of Dewsbury Travel & Tours (incidentally in Batley rather than Dewsbury) a few minutes ago. I had to make a small payment transfer via Western Union and the service was just plainly appalling. I first phoned to check if they were open to which I received a sarcastic reply: 'errrm, I think so'. In the 15 minutes I was there (a poor lady before me was going through the same treatment I am about to describe below) one of the guys was either laughing hysterically and joking in gujerati or screaming angrily down the end of the phone to a supplier/customer. The one I dealt with expressed himself with grunts and hand gestures (seriously, it was one step away from him either clapping or throwing a stick at me and shouting 'fetch') and throughout the whole process I felt as if I had inconvenienced them by turning up as a customer! If I had another choice, I would have definitely walked out and felt thankful I wasn't booking a holiday/tour with these guys. I would hate to call them in the event of a problem (clearly the one being yelled at over the phone by the other chap - who wore a pocket square, cute - did have a disagreement of some form which within 30 seconds descended into a blown-out, high-pitch verbal onslaught). The one I was dealing with made a spelling mistake with my name and then asked for some ID to amend my details to the correct spelling. When I questioned why any ID was not needed to enter the wrong name(!) he seemed irritated and blamed the system. During the whole time I was there I felt uncomfortable, unwelcome and frankly I have seen more professionalism at a Primary School play. Vote with your feet guys - don't put up with this sort of nonsense!
