About Us

My name is Heather Harris, and I live on our smallholding in the beautiful Gwendraeth Valley. I have had a passion for baking since I was at school, my interest in cake decoration started when I made my eldest sons 1st birthday cake, which was over 30 years ago.

During this time I have learnt many new skills, including making sugar paste flowers, and edible figures. Now that my children are all grown up, I have made the decision to turn my hobby, into a business. I make all of my cakes in the traditional way, combining good quality fresh ingredients, with eggs from our own Free range flock. It is very important to me , that my cakes taste as good as they look. I love to spend my time in the kitchen, experimenting with new flavour combinations , and perfecting my recipes until they are just right.

Over the years I have had a great deal of practice, making celebration cakes for our large family. The name Dilly Daydream, comes from the fact that, my head is always filled with new design ideas and colour combinations, for cakes ranging in size from cupcakes, to wedding cakes. I love to create bespoke designs. They can truly represent the lucky recipients personality, using their hobbies and interests to create a unique cake. I am pleased to say that the business has now become successful enough, to enable me to opened a shop in Pontarddulais.
