What's On: The King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry Museum follows the Regiment's story through the centuries, bringing it up to date with information on the Light Infantry and the Rifles. Upstairs in the Art Gallery you can find nationally important works of art from our own collections alongside a varied programme of temporary exhibitions - whatever style of art you are interested in, we are sure to have an exhibition to cater for your tastes!
Rooms for Hire: Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery is a unique venue to host your meeting, conference, exhibition or event. We offer meeting spaces which are quiet and reflective where delegates are surrounded by contemporary works of art from our in-house exhibitions and guest exhibitions throughout the year. We also offer a short introduction to the museum and art gallery and a tour of our must-see exhibits.
The Museum and Art Gallery is located near Doncaster town centre.

“Great” Reviewed 27 March 2013 - I haven't been to Museum for a long time and decided to take my great niece out for the day. I loved the layout as it's well planned out. On our start we were given a quiz she which was excellent and well thought out. And we spent a well packed 3 hours scanning the artifacts. I liked the fact that there were refreshments available albeit a vending machine, but there was a setting area. Visited February 2013

“EXCELLENT FOR LOCAL HISTORY” Reviewed 18 March 2013 - The official home for the Yorkshire Light Infantry exhibit, now a permanent feature in a specially built part of the museum. Doncaster museum also offers excellent coverage of local history and plans numerous events and exhibitions to coincide with school holidays. You could easily pass the afternoon away here and keep the kids entertained. The museum also hosts an art exhibition every year for local artists; the quality of the art rising each year. Parking is ample, there are a number of local buses that pass close by, the train station is a ere fifteen minute walk, a short bus ride or taxi ride away. Close to the centre of town a visit to the museum could be combined with a visit to the town's famous and award-winning markets, the re-furbished shopping centre or even the Doncaster Dome or Air Museum. It may not be a place to re-visit too often but is definitely worth the visit at least once a year to see any new exhibitions. Ideal for families, groups, personal visits. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. There is a large service lift [operated by a staff member] for the disabled to use. Which I have been grateful for a number of times. Visited November 2012
