The Douglas horse tram service operates within the Town Clerk and Chief Executive's Department and is recognised as the oldest horse drawn tramway in the world. The service runs along Douglas promenade between Victoria Pier (adjacent to the Sea Terminal) and the tram station at the Manx Electric Railway terminus by Strathallan Crescent.
Journey time end to end is approximately 20 minutes. Passengers may join or leave the tram at request stops along the route. The 2012 summer season service will operate daily from Monday May 14th to Sunday September 16th inclusive from 9am to 6pm. In addition, seven-day Explorer tickets offeringunlimited travel on the horse trams, railways and scheduled bus services can be purchased from the tram station or the Isle of Man Welcome Centrein the Sea Terminal, Douglas.
