What is Speed Dating?


Well it's fun, quick and a laugh a minute, 4 minutes to be precise. We get all you single Aussies, Kiwi's and Saffas all in an exclusive bar area and give you all a Down Under Speed Dating pack that will include your ‘scorecard'. We then pair you off into couples and you each have around four minute dates.

If you're feeling a bit nervous, don't worry, at the beginning of the evening everybody is a little nervous, but after your first few dates and a couple of calming shots you will get the hang of it. We encourage you to bring friends for support and to share the experience with.

After each four minute date you fill out your scorecards and you move onto the next single Antipodean. There is a private bar so you can grab a drink at anytime during the event as well as during a short break take a breather and assess your ‘scorecard'.

Once you have dated everyone you hand your ‘scorecards' into one of the hosts and you are invited to stay and mingle with the other speed daters.

The following morning you will receive a ‘Match Update' through your email (or by phone if preferred). We will send you all your matches (those you liked and those that liked you in return) with their photograph, email address and mobile number so you can get in touch with them again. We do not give out your contact details unless there has been a successful match.

What sort of people come to Down Under Speed Dating?

How many dates will I get?

You will get between 20 – 25 dates and you will spend 4 minutes with each single Antipodean.

What age range is it for?

Well if your 23 to 35 or there abouts then you should feel right at home.

How long will the speed dating event last for?

The event starts at 7pm, the dating starts at 7.30pm sharp (if you're late you won't be guaranteed all the dates) and will run till 10pm at the latest. Then after that you have exclusive use of the bar to relax and mingle with the hotties!

This looks like so much fun, how do I book my place?

Easy – click here and you will be taken to the booking page, send Down Under Speed Dating an email for which date and venue you wish to book for and we will send you a secure online payment form to fill out. And that's it, you will get confirmation of your booking ... all you need to do now is decide what your best chat-up line is.

Can I pay at the door?

We're afraid not, we need to make sure the numbers are equal so all tickets will need to be booked in advance.

What if I like someone I meet at Down Under Speed Dating?

That's the aim, when you do the ‘dating' you will rate each of the ‘dates' – if there is a match then we will send each of you your contact details ... the rest will be up to you.

Do people come alone or with a friend?

Both actually, you'd be surprised the number of single people that come alone – once you arrive you will be directed to the bar to get a drink to calm any nerves and then the fun will begin. You are welcome to come along with a friend too, many do.

I have booked my ticket and I need to cancel?

That's fine. You have to cancel at least 7 days prior to the event by email (please keep a record of the sent email to avoid any disputes) and we will confirm by email and we will refund the payment. If you miss out on the 7 day period, you are more than welcome to pass it on to a friend who is of the same sex.
