Horrific customer service. Zero professionalism. Sub standard talent. I would not recommend this 'salon' (I use that term loosely) to anyone for any treatment. The customer is not valued here and it's a shame as I was looking for somewhere new and close to my home. Look to book anywhere else!

I had just come back from a visit for a quick haircut and I wasnt disappointed. Great staff with a friendly atmosphere. The shop is a temporary base as the current shop is being re-made but you didnt get that impression as the place looked great. there is a laid back environment within the shop which i liked and the service wasnt rushed. Being a guy I have never been to a unisex hairdressers but I was put at ease from the minute I walked in. The owner is very skillful and passionate about giving the best service possible each customer gets their own special care and attention. I definitely recommend the place and will come back regularly. cheers

This salon is anything but professional. The hairdresser I had, didn't listen to my instructions and cut my hair way too short. My daughter's hair was also a complete disaster. The hairdressers are more interested in talking to each other an on their mobiles than to their clients. A disastrous experience. Avoid this place.

Im righting in responce to the lady who had her daughter in and has recently left a review. we are sorry you feel you have been unfairly treated. as we stated when you called up to complain in the first place we were surprised to read this review as we were under the impression your daughter was happy with the colour we did but wanted more put in. as we did a full consultation with your daughter before YOU came into the salon we chatted about what she wanted and the reasons she could not achieve this at that time (mainly the previous tint she had on her hair). she was happy to go ahead with what was recomended and after explaining this to yourself you seemed happy with this too. im a little surprised at the acusation of cutting of more than was asked as you sat watching and listning to what we disscused about cutting off and at no point did you ask me not to cut off the 2 inches we discussed and took off. when you called you demanded your money back wich we were happy to give and 3 free sets of highlights which i thought a bit odd. if you were so unhappy with what was done to your daughter why would you want to let her near the salon again. we are sorry you feel you had a bad experience and feel your coments were not only untrue and false but blatant lies!

Me and my daughter both get our hair cut by Kelly and she makes an amazing job every single time and if I'm not mistaken last time I was in they had just won salon of the year witch is voted by the public!! Amazing wee salon i would recommend to everyone =)

SHOCKING COLOURIST & COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL

Finding it hard to write this as i don't normally feel the need to complain but after the shocking experience i have just witnessed in this salon? I am reporting them and definitely taking further action for destroying my 15yr old daughters hair! She went in with 22 inch long natural hair length, thick and healthy apart from the ends (which as we all know wont be healthy unless you get it regularly trimmed). She had put a toner through her hair 6 months ago but it was growing out. I paid for a full head of highlights and a cut and blow dry and the woman in there was basically trying to convince us she would not need a full head done as it would go ginger so opted to give my daughter a few packets through the front and sides with the option to add more if we wanted. THAT WAS A COMPLETE AND UTTER LIE! She actually put about ten packets in total through her hair as i counted them. That covers the part-ton and nothing else and since my daughter has long layers? When she had dried it? There was a clear flat blonde line right across the back of her head. Therefore one third was blonde and the rest was brown! I would like to add at this point that the blonde colour used did NOT turn her hair ginger which was the excuse the woman had gave for not putting it all through her hair. It turned out fine! In actual fact, and i quote, "I will put a few packets in the front and sides so its easier to fix if she doesn't like it, but if not and she likes the result? We will add more through the length today". Secondly, To hide her mistake, she then started hacking her hair not only shortening all her layers but also using thinning scissors without first asking if this was something my daughter wanted. We had arrived and given her clear instructions and she finished making my child looking a mess! My daughter was so upset she cried when we left. Including being 4 inches lighter! Thirdly during this whole process i asked the woman to add more packets and she refused saying she couldnt do it at that time so i said when can she have them done? The two of us witnessed her say this at the beginning of the consultation PRIOR to her doing anything so why did she suddenly change her mind and become defensive when asked to correct her mistake? I pointed out that she had made a shocking job of my daughter’s hair and politely asked her to correct this but i was then told i would have to pay extra to have it fixed??!! Im sorry...but i paid for a FULL HEAD OF HIGHLIGHTS NOT TEN PACKETS SCATTERED THROUGH THE FRONT AND THE SIDES!!! I have taken a catalogue of before and after pictures and will be presenting them to trading standards tomorrow morning along with a letter to KGB and PayPal. I have never felt so let down and conned in my life. She must have thought she would get away with it and it’s absolutely shocking that this woman is still trading after so many complaints. I only wished i hadn't trusted KGB by assuming they wouldn't be offering a low class substandard salon experience to honest hard working people! Additionally I think her temper and mood was exaggerated as she had received a call during my daughters appointment which made her angry and this was very unprofessional which matched her tone of voice. I heard her say she had an appointment at 6.15pm so we were basically shoved out the shop and told to contact KGB if we weren't happy???!! What sort of level of customer care do these people have? None as far as i could see. I am now going to be out of pocket AGAIN to have a REAL professional fix this woman's shocking and horrid mistake and i will be suing them for the state they have left my daughter in! AVOID WITH YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!

Firstly can I start Off by saying that I am disappointed to hear that you did not have a good experience in regards to your treatment. Out of the 250 of these treatments which I have done you are the first to say you didn't enjoy it. Everything which you have said could have easily be resolved in the treatment room rather than through a review site. In regards to friction on your skin I can assure you that I use more than enough massage oil, if you felt it was that uncomfortable or sore then once again you could have said in the treatment room, where more oil would have been applied to your skin. In regards to being a fully qualified masseuse (which I have taken as a person attack) i can assure you that I have over 8 years experience. In regards to the pressure I cant possibly comment, as I do not know what body shape you are, as this would effect what type of pressure to apply.

The picture on the website in no way represents the actual condition of the hairdressers. The interior is dark, dirty and as unwelcoming as their staff. I purchased a deal online for a full head of highlights and a cut. She spent less than 30seconds assessing my colour and proceeded to haphazardly slap on the dyes with no regard for colour matching. I was left for over an hour whilst staff were on their phones and chatting to each other. I eventually had to go and find a member of staff to inform them that the dye was beginning to feel uncomfortable. She seemed to regard me as an inconvenience interupting her conversations. She then proceeded to tell me that I was exaggerating my discomfort. The dye was then washed out and the hair was cut with the same lack of enthusiasm and skill. When my hair was dried it became apparent that she had only dyed from a centimetre below the roots to halfway down my hair. She had also neglected to dye the back of my head. This was instantly noticeable as the dye was completely different to the original. For example, large sections of hair were bleached white when I have never had bleach in my hair before. I went into the salon with natural blond hair and left with copper, ginger and bleach patchwork job. I highlighted this to the hairdresser and she became defensive and denied that there was any difference. In order to prove this point she turned off the light because she said it was only noticeable due to the bright lighting. She did offer to repair it at a later date but since she had denied that there was a problem I failed to see how she could fix it. I also, understandably, had a total lack of confidence in her colouring ability. I then had to book an appointment with another salon and spend £60 trying to repair the massacre. This other hairdresser was horrified at the standard and appearance of the colour and cut. He was unable to fully repair Dune's work due to the large amount of bleach. Do not go to this salon. It was a terrible and expensive experience which my hair will take a long time to recover from.

I recently had a Groupon for the hot stone/paraffin wax back/facial. I have to admit that is was the most disappointing treatment I've ever had. Firstly, the music in the treatment room was too loud and not relaxing at all. I was especially looking forward to the hot stone, but this felt more like a back rub (I've had plenty of these before) than an actual massage. In fact, by the end my skin was beginning to get sore from the friction of simply being rubbed. There was no deep pressure applied and I really wondered if this was a trained masseuse. The facial was not bad, although the creams kept going in my eye and started to sting. I came away feeling completely unrelaxed, and still tense; not how I expect to feel after 75 minutes of treatments. Needless to say, I won't be returning. Very disappointing.

I have been to Dune twice now. First visit using a Groupon Voucher for cut & colour....Kelly (owner) cut my hair, I am very pleased with the cut and colour, people have even commented on what a lovely cut it is. I have also had GK Blowdry today and at the moment it looks and feels amazing.......I feel it's only fiar to give praise where praise is due. Thank you Kelly, I will be back......

I tried to contact the manager of the salon but I was told that she was on holiday, the reason why I have chosen to write a review is so that people who think of going to the Salon know what to expect. Once again you are not admitting your mistakes but making excuses for them which aggravates me more, being the manager should make you responsible, and you should take action for your salon getting reviews like that rather than trying to justify it. About being early my mother was told that the stylist was running late. There is no need for attitude like that if you expect good reviews then your colleagues should be working professionally.

Aysha I'm very sad to hear your mother had a bad experience at my salon. Having read your coments I looked into your claims. Let me first state that if you had contacted me directly I could have disscused this with you instead of here. When your mother arrived she was early for her appointment so yes she had to wait. Her appointment was at 10.30 am which is our first appointment that day but your mother was 15 minuets early this is why she had to wait. When your mother was having her hair cut she asked for a specific cut and amout off. After this was done she requested a lot more off. As explained to your mother this would have ment giving her another compleat haircut and due to time was not possible and she was offered to come back at a later date. I'm sorry if any confusion occured. Please feel free to contact me reguarding this matter directly.

I am writing on behalf of my mother who had a Groupon voucher to have her hair cut, coloured with Moroccan oil treatment. First of all I got my mother the voucher as a birthday present, I read the reviews but as most reviews were positive i decided to go for it. I got home from work today and my mother was very upset at the service that was provided by the hairdresser. She did say that all other staff were friendly but this hairdresser who cut her hair is really why i am taking valuable time out to write this review. When my mother got there she was asked to wait as the stylist was late. Secondly when she arrived there was no apology for being late or even an introduction. She said very bluntly "what do you want done with your hair" after she explained what colour she would like the hairdresser got the colour and dyed it. Not only did she dye her hair, she dyed her forehead and neck? While she was doing it she was having a conversation with another client and completely ignored her. After she had her hair dyed it was washed by another member of staff who was very friendly. When it was time to get her hair cut once again the hairdresser made no attempt to start a conversation, was very hard faced and spoke to another client whilst cutting her hair. She just wanted to get it over and done with and once she couldn't be bothered doing more she asked if it was okay, my mother said she would like a bit more off, once again she rushed it and chucked her hair to the front to show her it, my mother said its not feathered, she shouted at her and said that she didn't have time for her hair and she had other clients. My mother was very shocked at the service, she usually gets her hair cut from Charlie millers where she has never experienced this kind of behaviour from, especially from someone who is supposed to be a professional. I really regret booking this for my mother as her birthday present and should have listened to the negative reviews, i just don't get what the problem was or if it was some sort of issue with my mothers race? O'm really shocked from now on we'll stick to the high class hair dressers. I will be taking further action by writing to the manager who's name i got after phoning the hairdressers. I really wouldn't recommend this hairdresser and will be cancelling my other voucher.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! I got the KGB Deal, what a big mistake, my fring is long, I have a side patern and feathered at the front so I asked for a small fringe to blend in with it, I ended up with a huge step in my hair back to my ear and then the rest was long. My hair it just past my bra strap at my back and I had to go elsewhere to get them to fix it but they had to cut all my hair into like a bob. When calling Dune they were NOT INTERESTED as they said "I asked for a fringe and thats the way its suppose to be" basically didnt give a sh*t!! Unless its a SKIN HEAD your looking for, DO NOT GO HERE

im very sad to hear the person who put the last review didnt have a good time at my salon. like i said to the person before who wasnt happy i am always more than happy to rectify any problems you may have had. when we use the groupon or living social sites we recieve feed back from the people who use the services and 97% of people who visit our salon are happy. we always aim to give the best to all the clients who visit our salon and if you feel you have not beed treated that way we are more than happy for you to return and have your hair re done.

OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Just been to Dune Hair Nails and Beauty for a permanent blow dry Absolutely amazing never seen my hair in such good condition and it lasts 4 months or so. My new trade secret. The girls where amazing and made my treatment an experience. I will now being going to DUNE every six weeks for my color and every 3-4 months for my permanent blow dry

I have just had my 3rd cut and colour at DUNE and am so pleased with how Kelly the owner/stylist has transformed my hair. I first visited in December after buying a voucher from Groupon for a cut and full colour. I was a bit worried about going as I have used the same hairdresser for 15 years. First visit I just went with a colour and a trim. I was so impressed with the colour and service that I returned in mid january and had a total restyle - WOW ! Back again today for a touch up and am still highly impressed. Very friendly and stylish salon yet not pretentious. Somehow I can't see me returning to my old hairdresser again !!

I have been going to Dune for about a year now and from my first visit the salon is buzzing. All the staff take an interest in you and advise what to do with your hair. I went there when my hair was snapping, a year on you wouldnt even know. £28 voucher was a bargain!! Any cut and colour and thats what you get. i will continue to get my hair done here LOVE IT!

Seriously Avoid it! My sister & I went here & just like above review we were ignored throughout whilst the staff read the Newspaper,txted on their mobiles, or talked amongst themselves. She didnt listen to what we wanted, didnt know how to cut my fringe & ruined my layers ( I had to go to another stylist to get it fixed!) Even tho we both had £100 vouchers to hav a cut, colour & full head of highlights done (stated on the vouchers!), she refused to do the full head of highlights on us both, she just wanted to put a few strands thru the top only (whats that all about?) Ripped off springs to mind! I asked to see a colour guide etc she said she didnt have one & that I couldnt have the Highlights done as we only had a half hour slot, even tho she knew our vouchers & when appt made required a cut,colour & full head of highlights to be done? in otherwords she had no intention of doing them. We were the only customers there the whole time! I came away with just a cut & wash out Tint,my sister a cut & few strands done on top of her head (the same colour as before she started I might add) Our £100 vouchers each may aswell have gone in the bin. We are both very Dissappointed, & are wondering who to complain further to about this?? I dont know how this salon is allowed to be open!!

i was recomended this salon by a friend and was plesantly surprised. when my friend told me it was only £39 for a half head of highlights with a cut included i thought she must have it wrong but i was delighted with both my colour and my cut. i have read the previous comments and cannot even begin to imagine how anyone would feel ignored in this salon as it has a reall buzz. i have been back and will continue to do so ;)

DO NOT GO HERE.me andmy friend both went here and both are unhappy,she didnt listen 2 what we wanted and completley ruined my colour,she dried my hair and then cut the bottom but didnt touch my layers but to be honest i wouldnt have trusted her to.even though i was booked in for full head highlights on a colour sale where it was £28 she wouldnt do the full head,jst put a few through the top she still charged the £28!!!oh and its pretty dirty inside and you may aswell not be there coz all the staff just talk to each other(i was only person int the salon)and just talked over me when i was gettin my hair washed.
