Kai took part in a Dv8 Events Course, and went on to quickly find work with a Brighton events company. Kai said: “Before I started at Dv8 I had failed my GCSEs, this was due to a lack in my enthusiasm to learn and hanging out with the wrong crowds. When I left School I applied for a BTEC, but during the induction I found out that I could not continue the course as I did not have the GCSE’s required. I left the college gutted. A few months later my Mum picked up a Dv8 leaflet. I thought the courses looked great and applied. During my time at Dv8 I had some of the best experiences in my life. As a group we got to plan, manage and run a successful club night, we had some great trips, including visiting the BBC 1Xtra radio station, the Ministry of Sound club, not forgetting the great friends I made (including the tutors) and the great times we had. Dv8 has changed me for the better. I got work in the Brighton club scene. The contacts and experience that Dv8 have given me have put me where I am today and I am really grateful for all the hard work everyone at Dv8 has done to change the lives of the younger generation of today.”

David took a Dv8 Music Production course and was part of a Dv8 Artist Development Programme. Speaking of his time at Dv8, David said: “I really enjoyed Dv8 and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. It got me into an advanced level music course which is something I’ve always wanted to do and now I’ve done it with the Dv8 tutors’ help. I’ve made loads of songs, performed at a festival, DJ’d and done loads of stuff I would not have had the chance to do. I would recommend anyone to do Dv8 as it’s a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and get into loads of exciting activies. It was good overall for helping with my key skills.’
