I teach English privately from my home in north Oxford, from GCSE to first year undergraduate level. I have an English degree from University College London, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the Institute of Education, University of London. I also have a Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate. I have over 25 years of teaching experience and have been head of teacher training at an Oxford school.

Specialist Services

I specialise in exam preparation for students demoralised, discouraged or currently failing to reach required grades. Working on the psychology as much as the knowledge of the student can often yield significant results. As an ex-joint chief assessor for the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, I am also used to seeing things through examiners' eyes and can prepare students accordingly.
