Erewash Voluntary Action - CVS (Council for Voluntary Service) We are a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee created in 1998. We are also a long established Volunteer Centre (some still say Volunteer Bureau – using the old name). Check out the Volunteering page. Erewash CVS exists to create and enhance effective voluntary action by: • encouraging, supporting and developing individual volunteers, groups and organisations involved in voluntary action • promoting and supporting new initiatives that tackle social exclusion and economic disadvantage • supporting partnerships between the public, private and voluntary sectors. • assisting community development and capacity building • Identifying new needs and developing initiatives to meet them • Supporting innovation, accountability and good practice in local services • Encouraging local groups and organisations to put forward their views on local policies and decisions that affect them • Promoting networking, forums and channels used by public services to consult the community EVA will provide support to local organisations, particularly those who rely on volunteers, on the key challenges of running an organisation: • starting a new group, especially self help groups • management information for existing organisations at all stages of development • information on employment matters and other issues for organisations with staff. • funding information
