Est is good!

Surely deserving of 4 out of 5 stars here, Est Est Est, right in the centre of the city near the train station and Headrow, is a modern, welcoming restaurant with a high class finish. It's a little more expensive than alternatives in the area but it is worth it (though it does have competition in the recently opened Croma over the road). The decor is modern and warm, the staff professional and efficient, and the food very good (if ever so slightly pretentious). Not one for a casual family meal, more a special night or date venue.Worth a visit for an 'occasion' but not the best value for a regular meal.

Gone for good

I went to the city centre branch of Est Est Est a couple of times - once for a work do with a big group, another time for a quiet lunch with a table of 4.Both times the service was incredibly slow, the food took ages to turn up and the staff were always only visible in the distance. The food itself was decent, nothing breathtaking but I didn't feel ripped off.Now it's closed down and been replaced by Blackhouse, with a tidy up round the front that stops it looking like a masterpiece of 80's concrete engineering.

Otley Old Rd, (IRIP), one was better

Large, cold, impersonal very noisy and very predictable city centre restaurant. Service was rather off hand last time we were there.....left waiting for ages before being shown to our table. Very overpriced too for what it is. Just amounts to a run-of the-mill experience at over the top prices but handy for the train station and shops if you are desperate or for city centre workers at lunchtime. Not a place for a special occasion mealin my opinion. Now, the old one on the Otley Old Road, just out of town, was a completely different matter...what a shame it has changed hands now.

OK but pricey for what you get

As can be seen from the photo, Est Est Est is underneath an ugly post modern nineteen seventies style building. This detracts from the glass facade that would otherwise work well. The glass facade works best on a lunchtime, with a view over a semi pedestrian area where city workers mill about and walk for their lunches. The food is good quality, although in my mind it is approximatlely ten percent more than it should be.The staff are helpful, and I would conclude by recommending Est Est Est as somewhere to go on a lunchtime, but look to other places on an evening.

Amazing Night Out!!!

I attended a friends birthday meal last night in Est Est Est Leeds City Centre. We had a fantastic time and will certainly be returning. The menu was large enough for even the picky eaters to enjoy and it was all very reasonably priced. Lots of wine floweed and the waiter kept our glasses topped up at all time - exactly what we wanted! The atmosphere was lively without being rowdy and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The bartender didn't even flinch when we ordered ten different cocktails at once! All in all we had a fantastic time and would definitly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a friendly, good value for money restaurant in the city centre. We're already planning our next visit!
