Evo Promotions Discuss Cancer Charity Warns Elderly People Are Missing Out On Vital Treatments A cancer charity has warned that elderly patients are missing out on vital treatment due to their age, which is contributing to “unacceptably poor" survival rates. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRLog (Press Release) - Apr 17, 2012 - Evo Promotions is ‘shocked' by recent reports that the elderly population with cancer is not receiving the correct treatment. A cancer charity has warned that elderly patients are missing out on vital treatment due to their age, which is contributing to “unacceptably poor" survival rates. A damning report by Macmillan Cancer Support said in five years an estimated 13,645 people aged over 75 living in Kent will be diagnosed with cancer and there needed to be a more effective way of treating them. Evo Promotions is a successful sales and marketing company that works with charities around the UK. ‘Working within the charity sector we understand the importance of our work. This is why I was so shocked to hear that elderly patients with cancer were losing out on life saving treatment,' said the MD of Evo Promotions. Charity bosses said ‘under-treatment' – such as not being offered surgery – was one of a number of factors contributing to avoidable deaths among the older population. “We know older people are less likely to receive cancer treatments such as surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy than younger people," said Macmillan chief executive Ciarán Devane. “Often, this is medically justifiable – over-treatment is just as undesirable as under-treatment – but we can't ignore the growing evidence which suggests that many older patients who could benefit from treatment are not being offered it. Evo Promotions stands by the point of view that the patient should be able to decide,' everyone is different in terms of what they can and cant handle. Treatment options should be given to each patient and then they can decide in what direction to go in.' A spokeswoman for NHS Kent and Medway stressed, however, that care and treatment for cancer patients was available to everyone, regardless of their age. “The number of people aged 75 or older dying from cancer has reduced in Kent and Medway since 1996," she said. “This is thanks to investment and training to improve early diagnosis rates, treatment and care of cancer patients and closer working with partners, including Macmillan. Evo promotions charity work reaches across the whole of the UK, with a source saying, ‘in time treatment will improve and so will the understanding of this disease. In the next 20 years medical research would have advanced so much so that there might even be a possibility that the disease won't be fatal and be treated effectively – we can all but hope that this will be a reality someday.'

Evo Promotions Comment On Mozilla Smartphone To Go On Sale In 'Late 2012' Mobile phones running an operating system developed by makers of the Firefox web browser will go on sale in late 2012. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRLog (Press Release) - Apr 26, 2012 - Mobile phones running an operating system developed by makers of the Firefox web browser will go on sale in late 2012. The first handsets running Mozilla's "Boot to Gecko" (B2G) software will be available in Brazil on Telefonica Vivo's mobile network. Brazilian tech blog Ztop broke the news but had no details about which firm will make the handsets. Announced in July 2011, B2G aims to be an open rival to Google's Android. The managing director of Evo Promotions has recently commented on the latest technology crazy that will be gracing our shops in late 2012, saying “Technology is very important in today's society, It is so hard to imagine a world now without the use of a mobile and with new mobile gadgets coming out which seems like every month it's very hard to keep up. The Mozilla mobile is the latest smartphone on the market which has some asking with so many phones on the market what makes this smartphone different from the rest." The Mozilla Foundation is best known for its Firefox browser that adheres strictly to official standards for writing and viewing web pages. B2G was started as a way to bring the same discipline to mobiles and give people more control over what their phones do and the applications they run. It gets the name "Gecko" because that is the part of Firefox that decides how to display pages in a web browser. Speaking at a press conference in Sao Paulo, Gary Kovacs, chief executive of Mozilla, said this openness would make a difference to the way applications on phones operate. “It's very exciting when we hear the proposal of a new smartphone, granted we don't get as excited anymore but in a society today new gadgets and tinker toys are released almost every month it's kind of hard to get excited anymore." Said a source at Evo Promotions. B2G aimed to make apps more like webpages and able to share data and links, he said. It did this by basing everything on the latest web standard known as HTML5. No details were given on who would make the handsets that Telefonica Vivo was planning to offer to its 90 million customers. It said the phones would cost about the same as existing feature phones. No specific date for the launch was given but Telefonica said it should happen at the end of 2012 or in early 2013. “The response about this mobile is very positive, it will be interesting to see if it l

Evo Promotions Comment On Kent Library And History Centre Opens In Maidstone Evo Promotions a local sales and marketing company were delighted by the news of the centre opening here in Maidstone. It will allow people to check out some amazing facts about the local areas and will also attract some tourism for the economy. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRLog (Press Release) - Apr 30, 2012 - Evo Promotions a local sales and marketing company were delighted by the news of the centre opening here in Maidstone. It will allow people to check out some amazing facts about the local areas and will also attract some tourism for the economy. The Kent History and Library Centre in James Whatman Way, Maidstone, has been built to protect and display the historic documents. The library also contains about 40,000 books and includes an area where visitors can access some of the archived material dating back to AD699. The managing director at Evo Promotions said, “this is fascinating imagine reading documents from past century's and seeing how life and culture were during ancient times." It includes a number of letters by Jane Austen and one from Lord Nelson. The centre replaces the Centre for Kentish Studies and the County Central Library. Both have closed, together with the East Kent Archives Centre in Dover, in preparation for the opening of the new centre. A source at Evo Promotions stated, “we hope that there will be a huge turnout at the opening to the centre. We hope many locals attend the opening as this centre will help bring tourism to Maidstone. The archive also includes a charter, dating from AD699, from the then King of Kent, granting tax relief to a monastery. Kent County Council spokesman said: "The new centre is purpose built to protect and give people access to more of our archive material, and to provide a 21st century library in the heart of Kent. “Hopefully the library gets the attention it deserves and that it is used regularly by the locals and tourists about the area." Stated a director at Evo Promotions. "There will also be a community history area, archive search room, digital studio, free public internet access and wifi, and a large space for displays and events." The managing director at Evo Promotions said, “I can guarantee the locals will use these facilities they have been given to the fullest, this will bring about more people hearing about the library and will attract more people to visit it and learn more about it or use the facilities."
