Nearly 40% of adults said that they worry about money more than any other issue in their life

Thoughts of how you will be able to pay your everyday costs can be daunting for many, particularly when something unexpected like a job loss occurs. Often it's things such as a credit card or loan you can't pay that can send you spiraling into debt.

More than a quarter of the UK population (27%) admits to being in an unmanageable amount of debt, with the majority (70%) of people generating this through credit cards.

Our research showed that the highest number of respondents (28%) stated that at its highest, their debt was equivalent to more than one year's salary and nearly three quarters (71%) said that they hadn't yet paid this off.

This was the situation Elaine and Martin Spafford found them selves in after Martin was made redundant. With five children to support and bills to pay, they realized that they would have to come up with an alternative income fast to stop the rising levels of debt.
