PASMA Training (Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers Association) is the most extensively recognised form of mobile access tower training in the UK.
The work at height regulations 2005 require that anyone using mobile access towers must be competent, or under the supervision of a competent person.
A competent person must be able to demonstrate that they have the sufficient training, knowledge and experience in order to carry out their duties responsibly. They must also be able to understand any potential hazards or technical defects related to the work / equipment. The course is designed to train delegates in the safe assembly, use and dismantle of mobile access towers. On successful completion of the PASMA course delegates will receive a PASMA operators certificate and identification card valid for 5 years.

Who Should Attend?
This course is for first line managers – those who have to, or are about to, acquire supervisory responsibilities. It provides an introduction to health and safety, welfare and environmental issues for those requiring an understanding of their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will provide a sound knowledge base to enable them to give valuable assistance in safely managing a construction site.
The aims and objectives on the two-day course are to ensure that all those given supervisory responsibilities understand:
◾Why they are carrying out their identified duties
◾What is expected of them
◾To ensure that they contribute to the safety of the workplace
◾Health & safety law
◾Developing a health & safety management system
◾Fire prevention & control
◾Risk assessments and method statements
◾Working at height
◾Accidents and first aid
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

◾Have an understanding of how health and safety law is structured
◾Identify how their supervisory role fits in with the manager in controlling the site safely
◾Carry out risk assessments and understand the need for method statements
◾Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings
◾Understand what is meant by proactive and reactive monitoring and appreciate their need
This course is a classroom based session with minor coursework and exam at the end of the second day.
Training available at our CITB accredited training centre near Reading in Berkshire for for beginners, experienced operators, renewal testing for CPCS and NPORS in Construction Plant - Dumper, Excavator, MEWP, Roller, Trencher, Crane, Lift Supervisor, Mobile Crane, Slinger / Signaller and many more.
