buying experience

MARCH 2015 I trusted the salesman conducting my business from over 100 miles away, naïve; yes but I had bought several cars this way and found people to be truthful. This was the exception. I purchased a car from Fleet Direct and was told that the car had a full service history, that the condition was excellent and that essential maintenance work had been completed. From the moment I arrived at their premises I was under duress, all they wanted was the money, The paperwork was not completed until after the money had been transferred into their account and car documents withheld until I had to ask for them when departing. A very distressing and unpleasant experience indeed. I discovered that there was little or no service history, that essential work had not been done and that several things on the car were broken. All in all I was lied to. They refused to put anything in writing and now they say that it is my word against theirs. I brought the facts to the attention of the owner Mark Roberts or Ben on his email who was extremely rude and insulting telling me to get a better job so that I could afford a better car, before slamming the phone down on me. I now intend to pursue these rogues through the courts.
