Frank Marshall LLP began as a business based at Chelford Cattle Market when Frank Marshall purchased the market site and the goodwill of the market and general business in 1947. The roots of the firm however go back much further as a result of the acquisition of the practices of Marsh & Son (founded in Northwich in 1843), Mainwaring Stafford of Warrington and J K Hill Hampson of Buxton, all long established and respected companies of high professional standing.
These standards, encapsulated in the words of 'Independence' and 'Integrity', are carried through every branch of the firm.

We believe that professionalism demands a commitment to certain ideals that can only be met by being truly independent of financial control by other parties.

Acquisition of estate agency, auctioneering and surveying firms by financial institutions and submission to the demands of shareholders through stock market flotations removes the ability of a professional firm to serve a client's best interests.

Chelford Market

Chelford Market is one of the most diverse agricultural auction centre's within the UK, with weekly sales of livestock, horticultural, produce and machinery, which are renowned as being amongst the leading sales in each sector.

Our location in the centre of the country and close to main motorway and trunk road networks provides easy access for vendors and purchasers of all commodities, and has made the Centre popular for a large number of special sales, including major Pedigree Society sales at various times of the year.

Our weekly Markets incorporate livestock sales on Monday's and Thursday's, horticultural sales on Wednesday's and every Thursday evening, and large monthly machinery sales, including a weekly sale of garden sundries, lawn mowers, small machinery etc. Reports from all these sales can be found in our Chelford Review, which has been published for many many years and read avidly by our wide range of customers.

Catalogues are available for all major special sales.

Directions: The market lies adjacent to the A537 Knutsford – Macclesfield road, and is best approached from the motorway network via junctions 18 or 19 off the M6. Alternatively, those travelling from the North may find it more convenient to use the
new M60 Manchester orbital route, and to follow the A34 south through Wilmslow and Alderley Edge, turning right on the A537 at Monks Heath traffic lights. By rail, travel from Crewe or Manchester Piccadilly on the local service, which stops at Chelford Station adjoining the Centre. By air, the Centre is less than 10 miles from Manchester Airport, from where transport can be arranged upon request.
