Action Today offers a FREE service for Individuals who want advice on IVAs. Unlike other companies, we will only put you forward for an IVA if you have a very good chance of being accepted. Other companies charge upfront fees for thier service, we dont!

In an IVA, payments are made over a 60 months period. Upto 75% of debt could be written off. Your payment is worked out on income minus everyday expenses. The amount left over is what you CAN afford to pay, NOT what creditors are asking for as a monthly payment.

When in the IVA you will have protection against your creditors charging further interest and taking court action. The creditors are NOT allowed to contact you BY LAW after the agreement has been set up. The only perosn who can contact you is the Insolvency Practitioner.

You make one payment per month. This is a private agreement. Your name does NOT go in the local paper. You do NOT lose your home. You do NOT pay interest. You MUST however make sure regular payments are made for 60 months. Only apply for IVA if you have debts of £18,000 or more otherwise consider Debt Management as an alternative debt solution.

.....is an agreement which decides how much an individual or family can pay their creditors each month. Debts are consolidated into one affordable payment. This payment made to the creditors once an agreement has been made. The plan can vary in length / time depending on the amout of debt and the monthly payment made. Interest is normally reduced or frozen during the plan.

Every 6 months a 'financial review' is carried out by your advisor. Your expenses may have changed so the plan may also need updating to suit your needs. Offers are then made on your behalf to creditors with the new changes (if there are any).

Evey month a statement is sent, showing payments made to date, with any latest creditor and company news. Creditors may also send you their monthly statements. This way you can keep up to date.
