Restaurant - Japanese in Leeds (West Yorkshire)

Fuji Hiro is inconspicuously situated around the side of the Merrion Centre. They have a menu including starters, noodles, soups and curries, and include a wide range of vegetarian choices. The décor is basic and looks rather like a motorway service station café but the food is delicious and worth every penny. Green tea is served free.

Fuji Hiro is about the food full stop. If you want atmosphere and decoration then I can highly recommend Little Tokyo, because Fuji Hiro is all about tables, chairs, and massive plates or bowls of freshly cooked Japanese meals. The food is delicious and always served quickly. Prices are comparable to other city centre eateries but you get about twice the amount for the price.Rice, noodles, soup. Basically every meal has one or more of those, pick and choose from the menu carefully as you'll want to try everything. I'd recommend the Yasai Cha Han (vegetarian fried rice) for anyone who's hungry!

Don't dismiss Fuji as another divey cafe, nip in and discover the wonders of fine reasonably priced japenese cuisine in a friendly if not funky environment. With staff more efficient than friendly (though they are in no way inhospitable), Fuji Hero may seem second best to some of the flashier japanese eateries in Leeds, but the food is amazing and the service so quick that it is a great choice for a lunchtime outlet. The chicken curries are delicious and the broths are out of this world, no frills food and no frills decor but the taste more than compensates for lack of chandeliers and fancy garnishes!

I really loved this place, me and the other half found this place one evening while on a long walk, we didn't even know that it was there but it was really nice and not a bad price for what we got. We were made to feel really welcome and the staff were really fun. When I couldn't say the names of the food. A great night.
