GAEIA were lucky enough to have Pastor Pete from Green Pastures to talk at our Manchester National Ethical Investment Week meeting.Green Pastures is an ethical not-for-profit company with strong Christian foundations. This initiative is a ministry of Shoreline Church in Southport, Merseyside. They believe that through the church, acting as o­ne, we can end homelessness in the UK.Today Green Pastures house over 300 tenants in over 200 units throughout the UK, equipping tenants with everything they need to live comfortably. Bearing in mind that many of them own nothing, this is a real blessing to them, helping to restore their dignity and self-esteem. Green Pastures property portfolio continues to grow, purchasing property o­n the open market & local housing allowance covers all costs. Capital for purchasing homes is raised from stakeholders and equity in our existing properties. That said, Green Pastures is a ministry not a business. Green Pastures have accepted loans from individuals and organisations since 2005. These have been typically used as part of the purchase fund for new properties and property refurbishment. Local Housing Allowance covered all costs: interest paid o­n loans, bank mortgage and running costs (insurance, maintenance & admin). Biggest windfarm in the world

THE LONDON ARRAY, the world's largest offshore wind farm will be ready in time to generate electricity for the London Olympic Games in 2012. The first stage will include 175 turbines spread across 90 square miles, 12 miles off the Kent and Essex coasts. At full capacity the wind farm will be capable of generating 630MW of electricity, enough to supply power to more than 470,000 homes.
