Relate trained Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor and Sexual Therapist. I can offer help for a range of personal and relationship difficulties. I work with individuals or couples of any orientation. I am also experienced with individual issues particularly trauma-related difficulties (from childhood or adulthood) and can offer EMDR and other appropriate techniques for trauma symptoms. Many clients experience low self-esteem, depression and low mood, anxiety, sexual worries, low confidence, work-related problems, eating and self-harm issues, losses and bereavements, and generalised or non-specific feelings of unhappiness and/or worries about relationships with friends, family or colleagues. I know how hard it can be to talk to someone about personal, delicate or difficult experiences, especially if you feel other people don't understand or that you might be being disloyal. I believe that the relationship of trust that we aim to build between us is very important - I hope that we can develop an open, honest, confidential therapeutic relationship so that you can talk about what you need to and also tell me if anything is bothering you about the process and progress of therapy. I will make suggestions and discuss using particular techniques if I think they may benefit you but will never press you to do anything you feel is not right for you.
