Mercedes A class lock out relay

People experiencing starting problems with there A class Mercedes should be aware there is a starter motor lock out relay built into the circuit of the start system, it should be diagnosed firstly if the starter motor or relay is at fault before proceeding to replace the starter as this is a very costly job (£800-£900 at dealerships) there are four different starters two have lockout relays built in and two are conventional type starter motors, symptoms include : Engine turning over and then not when tried again, leaving the vehicle and returning and once again the engine turns over, if you are experiencing any problems that appear to be a starter problem contact me first for more information as it may save you hundreds of £££.
