Snap Safe Cylinders

Burglaries through upvc doors are getting increasingly more common. It is a common misconception that upvc doors are so secure due to the multi point locking mechanisms which are fitted to the door when new, as standard. THIS IS NOT TRUE!.The multi point locking mechanism will only stop the door from being prised open with crowbars ect. Burglars have found new ways to beat this and the easiest of all is cylinder snapping. All upvc, composite doors and a lot of aluminium doors have what is called euro profile cylinders fitted. (this is the part that the key goes in). These original cylinders can be compromised very easily by breaking the cylinder in half allowing access to the insides of the multi point mechanism and your door can be unlocked. Unbelievably this hole process takes less than 30 seconds. It doesn't matter how new your door is as 9 out of 10 will come with very basic lock cylinders.
