The Glass Studio have been carrying out the design, restoration and encapsulation ( Laminating) Leaded Lights for over a quarter of a century, in the Southend area. We are passionate about Leaded Liights. And this is reflected by our knowledge and our understanding of the various design periods ( Victorian,Edwardian Art Deco). Under the ownership of Ruben Caruana The Glass Studio continues to provide a knowledge base and service unparalleled and have carried out many residential, ecclesiastical and commercial projects throughout the Southend area.

Apart from designing and the restoration aspect of our business, we also carry out a highly specialist method of Laminating existing Lead Lites in preparation to having double glazing installed. We work along side many of Southend's most reputable and long established Double Glazing companies. We work closely along side the nominated installation company to offer the customer a complete Double Glazing solution, when dealing with pre existing Leaded Lites. From removal to re installation.All our work is carried out using BS standard materials and the highest level of craftsmanship as you would expect from a company as established as The Glass Studio.

Apart from working with Double Glazing companies installing UPVC ,we have created a niche market for customers wishing to have a traditional Double Glazed joinery installation. We work along side established companies such as Dennis Lamb Joinery.We specialise in the removal of old Crittall and wooden side hung casements, replacing them with hand made hard wood frames designed to take a double glazed unit and re install to their original openings.This type of conversion is carried out for customers that wish to maintain, as much as possible, the original features of their home whilst benefiting from the security and insulation that a well installed double glazed system offers.

We also undertake the restoration and overhaul of traditional Leaded Lites and provide a security service to the outside of pre installed glass using Toughened glass ( BS EN12160classA) an effective barrier for any potential intruder.
