Graham Ash Architects is a small professional practice based in the market town of Romsey, Hampshire.
We have been based in Romsey since 1987 and have carried out a wide range of building projects.
Most of our work comes from personal recommendation.If you are interested in using our
services, please contact us for an informal discussion. Regardless of the size of the project, we will come to visit you in order to appraise the nature of the scheme. We will also give you an indication of the possible costs and timescale.
Graham was educated at George Heriots School, Edinburgh and Portsmouth Northern Grammar School. On leaving school in 1969 he joined the architectural practice of A.E. Cogswell & Sons in Portsmouth working for the late Professor Ted Cogswell. He studied at full time at Plymouth School of Architecture for a first degree and part time at London South Bank Polytechnic for a
postgraduate diploma. He worked in London for 7 years in planning and architectural practices. A recurring project type during this time was housing for the frail elderly He was elected to membership of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1984. Returning to Hampshire in 1984 and joining a major local practice as an associate he continued involvement in housing related design and planning.
In 1987 he established the practice of Ash Powell Associates with John Powell. The practice experienced rapid success and growth. The partnership ceased in 1990 with John concentrating on development opportunities.
In 1990 Graham Ash Architects was formed and carried out a wide range of housing design and planning projects for a range of major clients including Laing Homes, African Lakes Corporation and local developers.
Graham has committed the practice to retain its size, to a maximum 5 persons and also its friendly and informal attitude. He believes passionately in continuing education. Has attended courses in AutoCad at Eastleigh College and has recently committed himself to a Distance Learning course in Town Planning.
The year 2003 marks his 34th year in private architectural practice.
He is totally committed to creating good design and providing a quality service for clients of the practice.
