About Guildford Counsellor & Psychotherapist - Patsy Edmonds

My name is Patsy Edmonds and I work as a counsellor in Guildford. My clients come from Woking, Guildford and other parts of Surrey. I work with individuals from the age of 17 years upwards. I welcome everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual preference, culture or faith, and hope that you find the information you are looking for here.

I qualified as a general and psychiatric nurse in South Africa and I have over 12 years nursing experience working in acute and chronic mental health hospitals. My time as a counsellor and working as a psychiatric nurse in the past has exposed me to the harsh realities/issues that a person can experience, due to death, divorce, redundancy, abuse, illness, relationships, low self-esteem, stress, anxiety, depression and addiction. This has given me an understanding of the reasons why you may be seeking counselling.

I am a fully qualified and experience Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in Guildford and Woking. I am registered and accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy www.bacp.co.uk.

I offer support to individual clients with a range of emotional issues. My particular area of expertise lies in working with people, to help them understand their emotions and the way they react, which may be impacting their lives in a negative way. As a counsellor I will not offer you advice. I will support and empower you to help you identify what is helpful to ultimately reach your goals.
Talking to a counsellor allows you to freely explore the difficult challenges of life, increase self-awareness, and find solutions to your problems. Counselling and psychotherapy provides a safe space for you to explore difficulties and painful issues that may be affecting you. It is a time for you to 'just be' with a therapist and can be immensely beneficial. Counselling and psychotherapy can help uncover the underlying causes of worries or addictive behaviour that will eventually lead to change and help you find new ways to cope and restores balance and harmony to your life.

Initially, you may feel worried or uncertain about going to counselling............ this is normal and not uncommon. It may help to lessen some of your concerns by visiting
www.guildfordcounsellor.co.uk for more information about how I work. You are also welcome to give me a call on my mobile 07437 449 575 should you have further concerns.
Alternatively, you could send me an email enquiry, make a first appointment, come and meet me, and see if you think I could be helpful to you. You can also call me directly on 07437 449 575 or email mailto:a-time-to-heal@hotmail.com Thank you for visiting my web site and I hope you have found the information you were looking for. I look forward to hearing from you.
