I have recently had a number of building projects undertaken by Steve and the team at Hawtin Construction and wanted to share my positive experiences both with the quality of work carried out and the professionalism of the entire building team. Living in a small town, over the years I had observed varying construction projects carried out by Hawtin Construction and recognised the quality of the construction itself and also the attention to detail in the finished projects. As such, I had no hesitations in choosing Hawtin Construction for my kitchen extension including insertion of window frames, velux roof windows, fitting of rear door, shed/outhouse restructuring including dry stone wall work, the re-siting and rebuilding of stone steps and the laying of a stone patio and path areas to the front/side and numerous levels of the rear aspect. Steve was a great help from the original planning design, helping with putting my ideas into a workable design and also keeping me updated throughout the project as things progressed. Steve's obvious knowledge and experience helped shape my ideas whilst also making valid suggestions on how to make the space work more for my requirements. Despite the obvious issues that developed with a build commencing in the latter, colder, rainier part of the year, work progressed quickly yet maintained the high standard of workmanship that I had expected from my observations. The finished product was so impressive that it actually inspired me to go one step further and ask Steve and the team to build and fit a large freestanding pergola and matching front and side gates. The garden now feels like somewhere I can enjoy working in and also maintain easily due to the helpful suggestions made by the team. The kitchen extension has totally transformed the house and allows me to fully experience the beautiful view to the rear of the property through the large, almost full wall window frame. Overall, I would highly recommend Hawtin Construction to anybody wishing to have any aspect of building work carried out in the future. You will not be disappointed with the results. A good team who were easy to have around in your home environment, making the building experience as bearable as possible by being as tidy and respectful in my home and encroaching as little as possible on my daily life, unless they needed the tea and coffee restocking!
