Was a good take away
We used to use this takeaway alot, always had a good meal and excellent service. Not used them for about a year. Had some relatives over and after having some drinks ordered a takeaway to be delivered. We waited 11/2 hours for it! We phoned twice told us they were busy. When it arrived at 9.30pm there was two meals missing and it was cold. Had to wait another 15minutes for the rest of the order. The annoying thing was we only live about a quarter of a mile away. Apparently it is under new management, Don't think they have got their act together yet. Will not be using them again.

great food and excellent service
Try an call in once a week the curry and gravy are the best around by far, and the sweet chilli chicken is or beef is restaurant quality, the staff all ways happy and helpful.

Yea! Hippos my favourite "chippy" in all of formby and freshfield .. huge portions and a huge selection of tradtional fish and chips (burgers etc) and also some great chinese options. Its a stones throw from the Grapes pub, where we all used to hangout all the time, so i've stumbled into it many times for a goodie bag before bed. The staff are allways very friendly and dont mind joking around with you after you've had a few. Great prices, great menu, great portions .. it is enough to fill up a hungry hippo!
