The directors, John and Mark are both qualified motor engineers and prior to starting Hitchin Motorcare Ltd worked at a local Nissan, Fiat, and Renault Local Group dealership at senior levels within the business. Incorporating Hitchin Motorcare Ltd in May 1990 we decided to specialise in the repair of Japanese vehicles and invested in the appropriate equipment to enable correct procedures when working on these vehicles.
During the years we have reinvested and expanded the business by adding a modern MOT testing facility and a small sales department specialising in the sales of Nissan cars.
As licensed credit brokers we are also able to offer credit facilities through a local credit company.
We employ an enthusiastic team of staff of which the motor engineers are all City and Guilds qualified or are receiving training to achieve this status. We offer an open door policy so the customer can see and discuss if required maters concerning their vehicles needs.
Although we specialise in Nissan and other Japanese and Korean vehicles we are also pleased to welcome other makes and models for repairs and service.
We have a small but friendly waiting area within our reception where we offer a selection of reading material and will always offer coffee, tea, and a bit of a chat!!
They correctly diagnosed a problem with my nissan micra but then went ahead and repaired it and charged me over 3 times the retail price for the part. However, I had to pay them otherwise I wouldn't have got my car back. Recently I needed them to run another car through the diagnostics check but when I asked them if they would (and I stated I was quite happy to pay a diagnostics fee) they said they weren't interested unless they got to repair it, were rude to me and hung up the phone!
