Took my necklace in for a repair, owner claimed it was "plated gold" (which it was not) and said "Oh no this is plated, we won't touch this. Why don't you treat yourself to a new one" to which I told her I was given this as a gift from my boyfriend and I would rather not. She then replied again saying "Well we can't touch this, it's no good." Astonishingly rude, lied to me and made me feel like absolute rubbish for owning a piece of jewellery I treasure, regardless of what it may or may not be made of.
