Just Paintings

Just Paintings is a long established gallery, based in Meopham, Kent, selling original paintings and antique engravings, along with manufacturing high quality custom picture framing. They have been continuous members of the Fine Art Trade Guild since 1979.

The gallery displays about 250 framed paintings, including oil paintings, acrylics, watercolours, pastels, antique engravings and Chinese paintings on silk. Choose original paintings from the very traditional to cutting edge design, but all at very competitive prices.

Large reserve stocks of paintings and antique engravings plus artists who accept commissions, you can be sure to find exactly what you want. Regular themed exhibitions are held throughout the year.

Do you have something you would like framed?
Then Just Paintings is the best place to have the work completed, as design flair is added for free. There is an extensive range of mouldings, mountboards and glass to choose from. All picture framing work is carried out on the premises and to a high standard that will conserve the artwork.

Other services include the cleaning and restoration of oil paintings, cleaning of watercolours, cleaning and hand colouring of antique engravings and maps, plus valuations for insurance and probate.

Most galleries selling original work have the paintings from artists on sale or return. This is great for these galleries as all unsold paintings are returned to the artist. The only problem is that many artists have to load their prices to cover paintings that are unsold; they also have to pay the cost of framing them all and storing all unsold paintings between exhibitions. Frequently artists try to save money by framing their own work, but naturally the standard is very rarely to the level of preservation that we use. So ultimately you pay dear for a painting in a poor quality framing job.

At Just Paintings we have a totally different policy. All paintings in stock are owned by Just Paintings. Every painting that we like when delivered to us is paid for immediately. Many artists find it is better to sell batches of paintings at a lower price than to wait for individual sales at higher prices. The savings we make are passed onto customers in the form of lower prices and a larger choice of stock by those artists. Also all paintings are framed for their long term protection.
