KSA: The Definitive One Year Musical Theatre & Acting Training

KSA understands that a three-year course may not be necessary for all students and we firmly believe that the demanding yet fulfilling nature of our One Year courses, our highly skilled faculty of tutors, and the level of commitment and professionalism we instil in all our students gives them the best possible opportunity to enter the industry after one year.

Our motto is “Strive to Succeed", and that is present in everything we do. KSA offers a fast-track into the industry for those students who are prepared to work hard, at the highest level, in order to achieve success.

Our courses aim to prepare students for professional work and a career in this most competitive and demanding of industries. As such, the course is equally demanding.

With only a limited number of places available each year, KSA guarantees each student will receive an unrivalled level of individual attention, driving them towards their full potential.

KSA offers many opportunities for public performances, culminating in a full-scale productions, performed in a West End theatre. Our method of showcasing has proved very successful and a high percentage of KSA students go on to work in the industry.

Terrible College

Service

Quality

Value

I made the mistake of going to this horrendous institution in 2009 and it was the worst experience of my life. Most of the teachers are bullies, they were very nasty to me and lots of the teacher they showed on the faculty list on the website did not teach at the college at all. I had a turbulent time at the school anyway with one thing after another going wrong in my life, from illness, injuries and deaths of friends but they had no duty of care towards me, even when a student landed on my neck, which caused a 2 year injury. They didn't care. They say the course is intense when in reality its 4.1/2 hours a day of training. The acting training is sub par. They would rather correct individual monologues rather than giving students the tools to correct themselves. Dance training is a joke. Focusing on street dance which is highly specialised and competitive instead of dance foundation. Both dance teachers were a joke, one just not very nice or helpful and one who we spent more time admiring himself in the mirror rather than actually teaching. I would say to anybody thinking of doing this course, DON'T! Run for your life. I am now a producer as well as performer and I would think twice as to whether to offer people who only trained at KSA an audition because the training is simply not good enough. I am not alone either. Others have said the same. I don't credit them on my CVs, and I don't admit to anyone that I went there as I am too embarrassed. There are many great one year courses that teach much better lessons and for the price of this year course it's simply not worth it.

Testimonials

Bethany Compson-Bradford: "Dreamboats & Petticoats" (Playhouse Theatre, West End & Savoy Theatre, West End & National Tour); "Call the Midwife" (BBC); "Holby City" (BBC); "Aladdin" (Perth Theatre); "Jack & The Beanstalk" (Perth Theatre). "My time at KSA provided me with the drive and confidence to throw myself into the industry. With the three core subjects of Dance, Acting and Singing each day I saw myself improve tremendously in all three subjects. As the classes are small, individual attention is given to every pupil and all areas of performing are addressed in order to make you as rounded a performer as possible. I have no doubt that I would not be in the place I am today if it wasn't for KSA and its tutors"

Daniel Buckley: "The Book Of Mormon" (Prince of Wales Theatre); "Loserville" (Garrick & West Yorkshire Playhouse); "Lord of the Flies" (UK Tour); "Fresher – The Musical" (Edinburgh Fringe); "Spring Awakening" (UK tour). "KSA helped to really make it clear that I wanted to be in the Performing Industry - With a course specifically dedicated to working with other people who are just as passionate about performing as you are, with staff who are dedicated to passing on their knowledge & experience and most of all, a supportive environment that allowed me to grow and gain in confidence. The showcase allowed me to gain interest from a top agent. None of this would have been possible without KSA Performing Arts"
