Service with a 'Smirk'

LD Carpets in Musselburgh, (2 brothers) 'advertise' some carpets with free fitting. The carpet we chose and we specifically asked the question (of 1st brother), came with 'free fitting'. We arranged for an accurate measurement and was surprised that the final price quoted (by the planner - 2nd brother), added a fitting charge. Went to the shop the next day as requested to pay a deposit a make arrangements for delivery. When we queried the price (with 1st brother), based on being what we were originally told, he said 'free fitting was on certain carpets only'. When we said we had specifically asked the question about the carpet we had chosen he answered - with a smirk 'you know how it is'. Yes - we do know how it is. That is why we walked out and have purchased our carpet elsewhere.
