This is my favourite place to eat, I look forward to everything on the menu and the wonderful atmosphere. I love the garlic bread with cheese and if you like fresh food this gives your tummy a treat! Such lovely people, they remember me every time which is just to mention a little about the excellent customer service!!

the best restaurant in enfield

la caverna is without doubt the best restautrant in enfield. family run for over 25 years by the nicest people you could hope to run a restaurant. there probably isn't anything on the menu that isn't wonderful and their pizza is the best i've ever tasted. considering the quality of the food the prices are ridiculously cheap. if you live in enfield and have never eaten in this restaurant you're an idiot

I have been to this Italian with my in-laws a few times now (I am new to the area but my partners family have been going to La Caverna for 20 years!). I was initially a bit skeptical after seeing the decor but I have to say the food and service were FANTASTIC!!! We started with some Sangria and house wine, both which were great value and delicious. To follow I had a starter of carbonara, which was yummy. Others had ravioli, mussels, baked eggs and seafood salad - all which I tried! And they were all lovely and whetted my appetite. For mains I split a mushroom pizza and lamb cutlets with somone. The pizza had a crisp base and a juicy topping and was superb. The lamb was tender, perfectly cooked and wonderfully aromatic. I was way to full for dessert but I did manage a coffee and a bit of vanilla ice cream. Desserts are probably not made here but to be frank I don't think this is the kind of place you go for to have dessert. The first two courses are stuffed with flavour so I wouldnt nessecarily need a pudding! I was super impressed with this place and have been back twice since, plus had a couple of take aways. I would reccomend this to anyone! I have booked a table for when my family come down in December. Well done La Caverna!!!

Local Family Run Favourite

Service

In the day and age of generic, mass market Italian restaurants (of which I'm more than guilty of visiting myself) it is refreshing to still be able to find a small, family run Italian that is able to compete. La Caverna, as the name suggests is a dark, cavern like restaurant, but that should not dissuade you from enjoying a meal here – however, as testament to how good the food is, it is always packed out, so book in advance. The food is always good, pizzas however are slightly on the thick side for me – but still excellent; the pasta menu is comprehensive with some excellent unusual dished you won't find in a ‘chain' Italian. This is of course the key point about La Caverna, the friendly, family staff are always pleased to see you again, the food is beautifully cooked from scratch by hand in the open kitchen by the head of the family and has been for 20 years or so and will offer you something special that you won't find anywhere else. The wine list holds a good selection of (obviously) Italian wines – but bizarrely they also serve Sangria, which is actually pretty good. Pick up a take away menu while you are there, whilst they don't deliver it is good to pick up a takeaway on the way home from work sometimes – but remember the name of your favourite dishes, the takeaway menu is all in Italian!

This is a traditional Italian restaurant with great food and atmosphere. Also it is very good value and the staff are very friendly and helpful. However, it does get very busy especially at weekends so you should make a booking at least a few days before to guarantee a table. It can be quite lively at weekends with big parties celebrating birthdays etc. Note it doesn't open for lunch during the week. The pizzas are very tasty and I recommend the seafood starter. They also serve mussels as a starter and as a main course which I would also recommend.
