With this cheese shop, you are really spoiling me

I love this place, it's decadence personified. It's centred around the cheeses, which are located in their cheese room, which has a controlled temperature to keep the cheeses at their best and, for this reason, only allows 6 people in at a time. You can also eat there, it gets really busy but they've just opened an extension so it's easier to get a table there. There's also alot of other treats: meats, pulses, chocolate, sweets, fresh produce. They've the very best of everything and it's well worth a splurge.

Oh this place is sublime! What an experience! Fortunate enough to be taking part in Food 2.0 a cookathon for 'charity' and Action Against Hunger hosted amongst others by TrustedPlaces, as contestants we spent the morning souring the best for the raw materials for some fabulous dishes! So it was inevitable that I was taken in hand and led into La Fromagerie. I will now be a regular here whenever i come to london! First, the ambience (on a Sunday) was busy and vibrant with palate led fusion of tempting flavours crammed from floor to ceiling. Little delicacies to tempt and delight your senses from the charcuterie plates with seasonal dishes to the aroma of the cheese maturing cellar. And its the cheese maturing cellar that is the real niche. A slide-to glass door is your entrance into the cool clime of the cellar. Don't tough! The friendly and helpful staff are on stand-by to advise, tempt, lead tastes and spur you onto to your perfect cheesey purchase. we opted for a Rocquefort. splendid. smelly, robust and slightly tingly on the tongue. What more could you want from a lazy Sunday morning for the ingredients of a perfecto brunch! But why wait until you get home? There's also small tasting café! yum.

Best Cheese Shop in London

Fantastic range of well kept cheeses beautifully chosen by a knowledgable buyer. With branches in North London as well as South Kensington La Fromagerie sets the standard that even the old guard like Paxton's should follow. The key here is how the cheeses are kept (away from industrial fridges) in conditions we are used to encounter only in France.

I wanted to go to this place ages ago and did so yesterday...(02/01/08)This place is lovely. There is a main long table in which you will be seated next to other people and even might chat with them if you feel friendly... there are also some tables for two. We had 3 dishes:1. chorizo soup2. leek pie3. salad with parma ham, butternut squash, nuts, lettuce and other stuff...we also had a small cheese plate at the end.The food was great- small portions but very tasty and fresh. The coffee was high quality as well!

Is it possible to fall in love with a cheese humidor? It seems yes! I got to sleep and wake up dreaming about La Fromagerie! But maybe that's the cheese doing the talking!La Fromagerie is just around the corner from work. We frequently get our lunch in Waitrose and pick up a scotch egg from the Ginger Pig and some cheese in La Fromagerie. The last time I went the initial reception wasn't exactly warm but after a quick chat about cheese and a few samples of goat cheese to test my palette out we were getting along like long lost friends. I was given a tour de force of the cheese world being told to stay away from the brie because it was out of season and inferior to a cow's cheese that oozed off the table and tasted of farmyard. This description brought a huge smile of pride out in both of our faces as I was given extra bits to nibble.I love this place and really want to have lunch here when I get a chance.

Lovely little cheese shop with tasting cafe in Marylebone. I love coming here for a late lunch with friends sharing the chesse platters with bread. I have also had main meals and salads as well but the cheese is the reason to go there. The staff and service is great and they will advise you on the cheeses you are eating. The shop is also great but can be taxing on your purse as there is so much choice.

Legendary cheese Shop and tasting cafe

I am not an every day cheese person. I save it up for special occassions and this place is perfect. It is a cheese eaters dream.Nestled in this quiet street of Marylebone High Street is La Fromagerie, which is a cheese fiends heaven. There is an open shop with lots of goodies (where I have done a few late Christmas runs for things like Chutneys and unusual condiments) but the piece de reisistance is a seales off cheese room where cheeses are literally piled upto the ceiling. It is a cosy and jostling little room with an overwhelming cheesy pong that gets you over excited and probably makes you buy more cheese than you mean to.A really novel addition to this shop cum cheese haven is a cafe where you can have a cheese tasting pit stop with a glass of wine (oh and some salad, coffee or afternoon tea if you must). So, if you like cheese then La Fromagerie is a winner and the kind of place, I suppose, that TrustedPlaces is all about. Original, unusual and quite a treasure. Here is the website for more info:http://www.lafromagerie.co.uk/home/
