It's so small you could miss it, but amongst the smut of Soho you'll find La Perla; not the underwear store, but an Italian cafe/restaurant run by Italian men who are charmers as soon as you step through the front door. Snack on delicious ciabatta bread as you choose from the extensive range of dishes at fairly reasonable prices. If you're really trying to budget, or are going for a lighter option, you can choose a starter version of a main course. The wine list certainly has a good choice, although there's nothing too exclusive about it. Eat here if your budget is mid-range and you're one half of a couple with a sense of humour. You'll need it for when the owners start telling you about when Lee Evans dined there years ago.
