Fantastico!

La Piragua came recommended by a local who loves latin food - as a latino myself, I find it difficult to find/recommend places that truly remind me of home. La Piragua was a nice surprise. The food was good and service efficient. Slightly overpriced and the place a bit too modern/chick - 2 things latin-american food is not about... however, something you easily forgive after trying their mean mojitos (be sure to ask for brown sugar instead of white)

Big protions, but slightly overpriced

Working out at about £50 for two for an average meal, the place is a little overpriced for what it is. The protions are big, but expensive for basic grills, at about £13 for a main. The atmosphere is a little tense, and staff are either too busy or not amazingly well trianed - they are well meaning but don't always get things right. The meat grills, in fairness, are pretty good, but avoid the fish dishes.
