I've spoken to our Consul in Edinburgh and the Ambassador in London to see if we could legaly challenge the owner for the spanish in the title, as nothing in their menu is spanish except the names of the tapas.I do not know where the cheffs learned to cook, but what they do is anything but spanish cooking. The names are correct, but like they say in the movies "any similarity with reality is mere coincidence". Vicente Diaz de Carvajal

Great place to take the family. Fab choice on the buffet menu and the kids love the small dishes with lots of options. Staff were very accomodating and friendly.

La Tasca is a big tapas restaurant in the centre of Aberdeen, whilst it is a chain is still serves some good quality food. The lighting in the restaurant gives it a somewhat bizarre light, and as with many chain restaurants the place can seem a little under staffed. The best bet for value for money is a Mon-Thurs deal called Tapas for a Tenner which give you a good menu selection of tapas to pick and choose from as many times as you like until your full which is perfect for tapas food which by its very nature make the servings small. Outside of this deal tapas can become expensive as each small dish runs from about £3-4.

I've had a few meals here and while the food is lovely and not to expensive, the service is pretty slow and there were some language barrier problems on one or two occasions. The all you can eat for £10 deal on a Thursday is great, but you do need to watch you get given the right menu – I've heard of a few folk ordering from the wrong menu and being hit with huge bills because the waitress didn't point the mistake out. The restaurant is very traditionally decorated and is warm and welcoming – you wouldn't think you were right on Union Street. It's location also makes it perfect for somewhere to go for a meal before a night on the town.

La Tasca is a great place to go if you're planning a good night out chinwagging with friends. It has a great atmosphere, jugs of sangria and one of the most extensive menus I have ever seen. There's tons of choice for vegetarins too, which is always a good sign.
