OUR JOURNEY

Latitude Journey was founded by Angela and Edd Tillen. They met in La Paz, Bolivia in 2007. Angela was a tour leader from Lima, the capital city of Peru, and she led Edd’s tour through Bolivia and Peru for the next 6 weeks.
They stayed in touch, and, some months later, met up again in Argentina, where Edd proposed at the mouth of the Devil’s Throat in Iguazu Falls. They were married in Peru in 2009.
When Edd's family and friends came over to Peru for the wedding, Latitude Journey organised its first tours: an exciting and educational family tour of Cusco and the Jungle for a group of 5 adults and 6 children, a lads' adventure on the Inca Trail, and a luxury Caribbean Cruise for an older couple. Encouraged by the success of these very personalised experiences, Angela and Edd soon set about creating their company.
Angela has been guiding and leading tours throughout all of Latin America, since 2003, and was the youngest ever tour leader for G Adventures (formerly GAP Adventures). She grew up in the jungle city of Iquitos, a genuine Amazonian. Like all Latinas, she is passionate about her home country, and has contacts and friends throughout the whole continent. She has walked the Inca Trail twice, and visited Machu Picchu more times than she can remember. Angela is the brains of the outfit, and an expert in the travel industry.
Edd is from Derby in the UK. From these humble beginnings he has become a seasoned traveller, who is more than happy to tell tales of his adventures throughout the world, like waking up with lions beside his tent in the Ngorongoro Crater, completing the thrillogy of bungee jumps in Queenstown, New Zealand, or taking home the ultimate souvenir from Peru (his wife). Edd gives Latitude the experience to take a normal holiday, and turn it into an unforgettable adventure.
Edd and Angela travel back and forth between England and South America as often as everyone else travels to and from work. They ensure that everything runs smoothly on both sides of the Atlantic. They have been on every tour we offer, eaten in most of the restaurants we recommend, and stayed in most of the accommodation we provide. They have been there, done that, and got several t-shirts, and are able to impart valuable help and advice for any situation that might occur.

Latitude -
Latitude means Latin Attitude, and we bring that attitude to every aspect of what we do. The Latino people are passionate, exciting and full of energy for the things they love. They are also very relaxed and friendly people. The idea of Latitude is not to be the biggest travel company in the UK, but to be the best; to put every ounce of our energy and enthusiasm into making your journey one you will never forget, and to give you a personal, bespoke service, so you get exactly what you want out of your experience.
Latitude also means freedom from narrow restrictions, or freedom of action and opinion. We want you to feel that you can achieve anything you want on your journey, the sky’s the limit. And when you’re stood on a mountain top, so close to the sky you could almost touch it, you’ll see what we mean. ---

Journey -
We don’t sell holidays at Latitude, we sell Journeys. A journey is the passage from one place to another, be that geographically, or emotionally. It is a significantly changing and affecting experience, and there is no better place on earth to have that sort of experience than in Latin America.
