You will be fully assessed by a Chartered Physiotherapist and your condition will be discussed with you, including treatment options and the estimated number of treatments which may be required. I will ask you specific questions to ascertain the mechanism of the injury.
There will also be a physical examination at the initial and subsequent sessions testing the anatomical structures surrounding the injured area until I find the injured site. You may be required to undress to your underwear to expose the appropriate part of your body to be treated. You are welcome to wear a pair of shorts and t-shirt instead. Once this has been established and the degree of damage evaluated then the treatment objectives will be discussed. You will also be given a specific programme of exercises tailored to your injury to continue at home. I believe Physiotherapy is a partnership between myself and my Patients, I do my part but for treatment to be fully effective I feel it is essential for my patients to continue at home between sessions to achieve good carry over of treatment.
