I am a fully qualified English and RE teacher (BA Hons; PGCE), I offer high quality English and RE tuition up to A-level standard for all exam boards.

Unfortunately I have had to retire from classroom teaching due to ill health. I am still committed to helping my students achieve the best grades possible and I have a great deal of experience in helping students to achieve higher grades than those predicted.

I am passionate about teaching both English and Religious Studies (which I studied for my degree).
As I am disabled I prefer to teach in my own home, however other arrangements could be made if necessary.

Tution Levels

I offer tuition for English, Religious Studies, Philosophy and Ethics, Drama, Theatre Studies and the 11 + Entrance exams. I can give high quality tutoring to students in Key Stage 2 (years 3-6); Key Stage 3 (years 7-9); GCSE (Key Stage 4: years 10-11) and AS/A2 Level (Key Stage 5: years 12-13/College). I also offer excellent tuition for adult learners wishing to improve their literacy and reading skills.

My Qualifications

I have a BA Hons degree in English Literature and Study of Religions (undergraduate degree); I also have a PGCE Secondary in English and Drama; I have Qualified Teacher Status; I have taken part in a great deal of on-the-job training courses to further develop my teaching prowess; I taught in secondary schools for 4 years and have been tutoring for 4 years. Over my teaching career (both in school and as a tutor) my students have, on average, achieved at least one grade higher than predicted, although many have achieved 2,3 or even 4 levels higher than predicted.
