I have been a member of this club for over 7 years fencing epee. It has to be said it is an amazing club with high level coaches from around the world many of whom have competed at international level. The club is ideal for all levels from beginner to advanced. One of the things I love so much about this club is that its members are from different cultural and social backgrounds - It's a club that welcomes everyone no matter what your age, sex, ethnicity or fencing level - making it an interesting environment to meet and talk with people because you will not only learn fencing but you will broaden your understanding of the world! I really can't emphasise enough how nice the people are at this club making it a fun environment to learn fencing and the reason I'm emphasising it so much is because I have trained at other clubs in London and I have found them far too elitist and the general atmosphere is overly competitive and serious - they are great clubs if you just want to fence and train but they are not ideal environments to make friends, unless you are one of the "cool bunch". There are plenty of social events both fencing and non- fencing, for example, the club arranges many fencing trips abroad to countries such as Italy, Hungary, Russia and France which are a combination of for pleasure and for training. I can't recommend highly enough what a fantastic club the London Fencing Club is.
