One of the least pleasant experiences I have had with a hotel in London

Whoever runs the back office has poor communication skills. When I tried to check in and showed him my confirmation, he attempted to lock it in the manager's office until I requested it back as proof of the reservation. This is supposed to be a bed and breakfast. When I inquired about food, the response was "...we serve no food." This means no meals, no vending machines, not even a coffee area in the lobby for customers who wait for initial check-in. No breakfast, lunch, dinner snacks provided whether paid or unpaid. Then you are not a bed and breakfast. False advertising. The outside of the building is deteriorating, unkempt with dried vines. I was given one old towel and not a set for a least one individual (solo). You do not receive a set, that is (1) large towel, (1) hand towel, and (1) washcloth. Nor was a towel provided for the bathroom floor. When he returned with one it had several stains not even of a consistent color as well as a hole. One stain was black, another was of a food stain. When I saw what he laid on the floor, I placed it outside the door to the left as it appeared to be a rag used when repairing a car or to clean something in the kitchen. The bathroom window has no curtain, covering or shade and faces the street view. I had to request a piece of fabric before taking a shower for privacy. My personal property was stolen last night. I asked for the police. He goes and returns with elder male who pretends not only that he doesn't speak English well, but also stated initially that he did not know the number to the police/station. Eventually I was provided with one. This place looks abandoned on the outside and you have to be a locksmith magician to open the door to your room after the first try. The only way the personal property was taken had to be in the middle of the night while I was sleeping as I had it lying on the bed. Major creep factor, violation of privacy and you know else was likely to happen. They provide you with little to no toiletries. No shampoo, no conditioner, no lotion. I had to request for the toilet to be cleaned properly because fecal matter was stuck to the left of the commode. They provide you with a bar of soap about the size (a bit smaller) than the pinky finger of a normal sized young woman. Don't stay here. Do not even look at the property. It is likely cursed. Low standards. No concern for the well-being of guests. Poor management. Pay the extra 30 pounds and book your stay at legitimate business establishment that adheres to the basic quality standards of receiving guests. STOLEN property has yet to be recovered.

I really wonder how any one possessing ordinary powers of reasoning can describe this as a hotel? To call it a hotel is an insult to the word. The rooms are ill equipped. There is no microwave or fridge in the rooms. It is an offence to use the microwave in the kitchen. The rooms are never cleaned. Electricity is an issue!!! And guests? A nightmare! The staff? About one of the most uncivilised people i have seen in my whole life. Barely able to express themselves. Rude, aggressive, ill-trained. Uncivilised!!! They seem to think that they are in their bedroom, they hardly care! This outfit is pretty unsafe. Now I think Government should wade into the issue of these so called hotels. There needs to be a Regulatory Body to protect members of the public. I had the experience of staying in this hotel. I had booked a room for £40. It was supposed to be an ensuite room and had been there for days. Early in the morning I was woken by the rude banging of a hotel staff (barely able to speak coherent English). I was to leave the room. Some-one else had booked the room. How strange!! It was impossible for some-one else to book a particular room...... I was ordered out, even shouted out. A guest in my room was ordered out with the words "what are you doing here?" I tried to even get the picture of what i had gone wrong only to hear the imbecilic sounding staff curse out "you made me lose my job, you will lose yours!!” Although it is a criminal offence to take some-one-else's picture without permission, an attempt was made to take my guest's picture. I was just wondering where these kind of people are from? In modern UK? You would at this time wonder whether there is any management to complain to. The truth is that there is none. I was called on phone a few times by a lady who appears to be making the call right from her bedroom and who ostensibly is the owner's daughter. I was called not to be apologised but to be informed about an insult to a member of staff. It was incredible. I did make a complaint in writing but they could n't care less. Please stay clear of this sham for your peace of mind!!!
