Don't fall for the sales patter

Micheal presented himself well enough, with a portfolio and lots of talk. However we first fell out over the payment schedules, in that he was demanding money on set dates, even though that stage of the work had not been completed. I let it slide as was already committed. Subsequently when he fitted the kitchen units around a boiler it was against regs (and failed inspection), despite his assurances. He also suggested we add in new venting in the bathroom to prevent mould, but despite the expense it didnt work.Then he suggested we replace some hard to reach hall spotlights too, which we did. They soon fell out nearly hitting the tenants baby. Moreover, he did not honour his commitments to come back and rectify any small snags, and in fact avoided our calls.So we had to pay again to fix his mistakes. Lesson is..don't be fooled by the sales patter!
