A shop, real and online, devoted to selling products and produce grown and made on the Isle of Wight. Onsite cafe, tea garden and sculpture meadow
When we came to the Isle of Wight 10 years ago, we were astounded by its natural beauty. We discovered beaches, down lands, creeks, cliffs and forests. We marveled at a dozen different landscapes, all equally magical, all squeezed into 147 square miles. We looked around and lost our hearts.
So we settled here, first renting, then building our own home. And as we explored further we discovered that this small island is buzzing with talent and productivity.
We found a thriving food industry. Here in the sunniest corner of the United Kingdom the climate is kind. Crops grow high; animals grow fat. And the produce - fresh, free-range, pickled, potted, preserved - is quite delicious.
We lit upon artisans who have lived here all their lives and craftsmen who, like us, have been drawn to the Island by its beauty. We've discovered jewelers working with precious stones and metals and beachcombers who let loose their creativity on driftwood and shells. We've met artists whose work captures the Island's extraordinary light, photographers who evoke its many moods and writers who have woven the romance of the place into their fiction.
Made on the Isle of Wight - a one-stop shop both real and online - was set up to celebrate this talent and bring it all together in one place. We have done the footwork for you, finding the best of everything that is grown, made, created or produced here on the Island. We stock the work of more than 200 small and medium-sized enterprises, all of them making quality products many of which make perfect gifts. We gave them a market-place so we could give you choice.
Whether you are browsing our online shop, or visiting the Island shop in Bullen Road (between Seaview and Ryde) we feel sure you will be as impressed by the Island's talent as we are. And if you visit us in the Island shop you will also find a wide range of fresh and frozen Island foods, plus the Two Ticks Café, offering coffee and cake or a cream tea too. We look forward to meeting you.
