one of the best

I have eaten in a number of restaurants in and around Northampton and the Maha-Raj-A is one of the best. It is has had a major overhaul recently and is under new management so if you ate here a while ago I would give it another chance as there has been a huge improvement. The décor is very tasteful and subdued and the place never feels too crowded and there is a good choice of music that is not too obtrusive. There is now a very wide range of courses including some very good fish and vegetarian dishes which is quite rare for an Indian restaurant. There is also a good choice of wines, beers and soft drinks for the drivers. The service is excellent with the waiters leaving just the right amount of time between courses so you never feel rushed. My wife and have been there twice since the change of management and we had an excellent night each time. I can't recommend the place highly enough. We will definitely be going back there and I would suggest that you do too as I am sure you won't regret it. All I would say is that it might be an idea to book as the place can get busy especially at weekends. You never know I might even see you there ;-)
