Maharaja Tandoori, also known as Mr Faroukhs, is a traditional Indian (albiet Bengali) restaurant - think sitar muic and not quite flock wallpaper.They have a very good value £7.50 set lunch menu, three courses and coffee. Mr Faroukh is very genial and welcoming and is known for giving out the odd drink "on the house".It's good value and unprententious.

I came to Maharaja with some friends from work after many beers and sambuca at the Phoenix. To cut a long story short, I boffed and lost control of my bowels. Wrecked my new boxer shorts. I didn't get a chance to eat my curry but thought it was a great place all the same. 5 stars!
