Sleepless Night!

My husband and I recently visited this hotel to celebrate our 37th Wedding Anniversary. At £200 a night in a room with a view we thought we were in for a treat! We booked in and was shown to a great room with cd player and a big flat screen tv ( that never worked during our visit) there was a lovely selection of toiletries including massage oils for your own use! All was well till bed time! on one side of the bed all the springs had gone on the mattress leaving a large uncomfortable hole. I went down to Reception the next morning and complained and was told maintenance would have a look at it while we were out, but on return to the room the mattress had not been changed and the bed had been made up as usual. I went back down to Reception and spoke to one of the Managers who told me "we do not keep extra mattress in the hotel and the only thing she could do was find us another room. We had to pack all our belongings up and move to the 4th floor! At no time did we receive any kind of apology nor were we asked on check out " did you enjoy your stay with us" I sent a letter of complaint and received a reply from Willem Verhoeven the General Manager assuring me the mattress had been changed and he looked forward to us paying another visit ( at preferential rates and excellent service) I'm sorry but I can book in to The Premier Inn for a fraction of the cost and be assured of a good nights sleep or my money back! Suggest any one booking in to this first class hotel should have a good look at the mattress before settling down for the night!
