Avoid!

Hired Mark Adams to do some work, agreed a date and gave him over £600 as a 'deposit' to buy materials. When the day came for the work to start, there was no sign of Mark and when contacted he said he was running late on another job and would be with us the next day. Next day came, still no contact from him - then he asked to start the following week. He never turned up - on the Tuesday he said his mother had been taken ill, could we make it the next week. The next week his mother had 'died' and the week after was the funeral. And so it went on... We cancelled the job and asked for the deposit back. He had already offered this the week before, but it took a further 10 days for the money to be refunded, Mark telling us several times that it was being transferred and would be with us 'the next day'. All in all, we wasted 10 weeks waiting for our job to be done and were without over £600 for most of that time. Then I saw recently on his Facebook page his mother, who is alive and well.
